I just finished trying out my new 46" flat panel TV (which replaces a much bulkier 28" model). The picture is much better; basic quality recordings on my TiVo now look really bad. Reprogramming my new DVD player to work with European DVDs went smoothly, and I adjusted the preferences so the default is Hungarian audio, English subtitles. Menus are still in Hungarian, which may involve a bit of guesswork until I learn the standard vocabulary. The commercial at the beginning of the DVD I tested it with had some of the clearest, easiest-to-understand Hungarian I've ever heard; perhaps I should search for more advertisements to practice my language skills.

Yeah the language lab has a pretty decent selection of foreign commercials, I guess because the presenters tend to speak clearly and there is often a visual reinforcement of what is being spoken about.
