Distributed Proofreading and Food
Jan. 27th, 2004 05:40 pmI've discovered that scanning goes a lot faster than post-processing. I resolved that I wouldn't submit any more books to Distributed Proofreading this month until I finished post-processing the ones I had. I figure that the end of the month releases me from my geas, so Saturday I'm going to submit every book I've scanned this month--and I'm busy scanning more, even now. I'm concentrating on novels and unillustrated works that are easy to format, so that I'll have a stockpile of fun books to post-process to break up the less easy ones.
At the end of the month I'll post a status report for December and January, listing the books scanned and post-processed for each month.
I discovered yesterday that Amazon.com has scans of menus available for several cities and neighborhoods, including Dupont Circle. I used this information to order some starchless Thai food: vegetarian tofu soup, yum tofu (chopped tofu and veggies marinated in lemon juice and spices), and ka prow tofu (fried tofu with chili and basil leaves). Waiting for the delivery now--oops, just arrived, got to go.
